Oh , this happened to so many Singaporeans too including myself ! I received a call on my mobile one day and it began in mandrain " 妈妈,我被人打了,快来救我啊!" It sounded from a teenage boy and coincidentally my son is 17 at that time but when I heard what he said in mandrain , I nearly burst into laughter and I replied him in English sounding like an Indian speaking tone , I asked " What did you say , I don't understand ! " Almost immediately he hung up the phone. Why I nearly burst into laughter was because my son hardly speak mandrain in school and at home , he speaks English most of the time except to his grandma , my mother and my mum-in-law..... his mandrain just sounded too perfect...LOL. Anyway I SMS my son who was in school and he replied he was attending a talk.... there were several cases of scam victims , mostly old folks who were panicky and did not know what to do at that moment and in the end lost thousands of $$$ of their saving to these A******* !
